Spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ in today’s 21st , undoubtedly has taken on a completely different look with the continuous, ever-changing, advancements, of how we exist on earth today. But no matter how swiftly progressions are developed or how audiences are captured through inventive and creative musical interpretations, the unchanging, unwavering, unparalleled message of Jesus Christ, always remains the same! And today, with an energetic, high spirited, Gospel band like SENSERE, you can guarantee the good news of our Savior will not fall on deaf ears!

Sensere is one of Gospel music’s only authentic, premiere soul bands, originating from South Florida. With a sound and look reminiscent of the classic Motown era, infused with musical influences of legendary bands like; The Temptations, Earth, Wind and Fire, Mint Condition, and the Mighty Clouds of Joy, their sound, showmanship, and stage presence is not only refreshing, but a nostalgic throwback that is undeniably note-worthy.

Sensere’s musical journey started in 2003, when the band’s leader and visionary, James Wright, first started the group. Wright played with his father’s band for a few years before starting Sensere. As head honcho, James wears many hats; he writes, arranges, produces, plays lead guitar, and sings background vocals, as well. In addition to that, he is also an accomplished drummer, and occasionally fills in as a bassist and keyboard player.

The 10 member ensemble’s ascension really became apparent when they partnered with music veteran, Eddie Pugh, in 2008. For over two decades, Pugh was a top music executive in the music industry working with mainstream labels such as; Warner Bros. Records, Casablanca Records, and Columbia Records.

In 2009, Sensere recruited Brian Williams (vocalist), Terrell Terry (vocalist), Wildmayer Marcelin (guitar and saxophone), Darryl Efford (trumpet), Charles McKay (trombone) Dontrial Wright (drums), and Tristan Dowridge (keyboard), along with original members, Timothy Wimberly (Sensere’s MD) and Dwayne Charlton (vocalist), in an effort to take the bands sound to a new level of excellence.

In the fall of 2011, Sensere released their first nationally distributed project, “THE SOUL OF FUTURE WORSHIP VOL 1.” The album became an instant underground sensation among musicians and fans of Gospel and Soul music. The albums lead single “Got Jesus” was a catchy, uptempo, horn driven groove, that music aficionados are still discovering today! As the group tours across the country, “Got Jesus” remains a favorite that audiences can’t seem to get enough of. The official visual for “Got Jesus” was also added into regular rotation on, which was virtually unheard of for a Gospel artist. “THE SOUL OF FUTURE WORSHIP VOL. 1” also featured standout tracks; “Faith,” “His Love,” “Favor” and “Freedom Worship.”

In 2012 and 2013, Sensere continued to land exciting opportunities expanding their audience with national TV performances on shows like; The 700 Club, Bobby Jones Gospel, and TBN’s 15th Street show in New York City. They also toured the country at various musical festivals and church events. Sensere also had the esteemed pleasure of being the first Gospel act to ever perform at South Florida’s prestigious 7th annual “Jazz In The Gardens” festival opening for multi-platinum selling artists Kenny G, Patti Labelle, and Mary J. Blige, as well as, performing at the Hard Rock Live in Hollywood, FL with guest artist, Mary Mary, which drew in an excess of 5,000 concertgoers.

Four years after the release of their freshman project, Sensere returned with their most inventive and heartfelt project to date with the release of “KINGDOM THERAPY” in May of 2015. “KINGDOM THERAPY” peaked at #13 on Billboard’s Top Gospel Album charts and remained in the top 30 for 9 consecutive weeks. The albums lead single “Love,” a mid tempo, two step groove, made an impressive showing, making it all the way to the top 50 on the Gospel BDS radio charts, with virtually no promotion and limited marketing, which is a testament to the groups talent and tenacity. Their follow up single “Holla ft. Mo Blessed,” was a lively, Motown inspired track, that had critics and radio personalities praising them once again for such an innovative take on a Gospel single. “KINGDOM THERAPY” also featured the beautiful ballad “Faith Equals Happiness,” the funked out “Radical Praise,” and the spirited Jackson Southernaires remake “Don’t Look Down On a Man.”

Later that same year, Sensere recorded their first Live DVD recording session “KINGDOM THERAPY” on September 25, 2015, at Florida Memorial University’s Lou Rawls Center for the Performing Arts in Miami Gardens, Florida hosted by comedian and actor, Jonathan Slocumb. The unreleased live DVD will be sold exclusively on the road as special gift to their supporters who make it out to see them on tour!

In an industry where new faces and voices are emerging by the second, Sensere standouts among the crowded marketplace with their originality and unique perspective on Gospel music. To see them is to love them and to experience their ministry is to know what joyous worship is really about. No matter how life changes or what is going on the world at large, Sensere’s mission is steadfast and clear, to live the best life, JESUS has to live in YOU!
