Lucinda Moore

Matthew 22:14 states, “Many are called but few are chosen.” When Jesus spoke this parable he concluded that many would be invited to the kingdom, but only those who had been “chosen” and received Christ would come. And ever since the age of 4, when Lucinda Moore started singing in church as a little girl, there has been an unwavering pull that she was not only called, but it was her destiny and assignment to share the message of Jesus Christ to a world longing for hope!

After a brief hiatus from the limelight, Lucinda has returned to the music scene with one of her most infectious singles to date, “Walking In My Favor.” The bouncy, contemporary, groove of Lucinda’s latest single has been faring extremely favorable at radio and with gospel music fans alike. “Walking In My Favor” landed on the Billboard Hot New Singles Sales charts for 8 consecutive weeks garnering major attention right from the start. Since then, Moore has been on a world wind radio tour making stops at several women’s conferences, church events/festivals, in addition to, stopping at one of Gospel radio’s premiere stations, Sirius XM with Meta Washington, and performing at one of Virginia Beach’s largest Gospel music festivals “Musical Soulfood Festival,” along with other A-list artists like; Anthony Brown & Group Therapy, Jekalyn Carr, Dorinda Clark-Cole, VaShawn Mitchell, Kurt Carr, Dottie Peoples, and many others!

Written by Moore and Grammy winning producer, Cedric Thompson, Lucinda believes this message not only mimics where she is in life today, but for anyone who feels like they may have missed their chance, you must walk in your blessing with unyielding faith knowing that God will provide right on time. “Walking In My Favor” is the lead single for Moore’s forthcoming new album scheduled to drop this September on her own label Nalah Music Group, which will also be produced by Cedric Thompson and accompanied by an upcoming tour.

Nowadays, Lucinda is not just stopping at music, she has developed her own shoe line, LM&M Boutique, that specializes in all original shoe designs. Additionally, she has just penned her first autobiographical book of surviving abuse, divorce, the loss of her father, making it in the record industry, and so much more. Moore is currently shopping for a publishing deal with hopes of having the book available everywhere by early 2018! But with any great success story, nothing happens over night…everyone has a beginning.

By the time Lucinda was in her early teenage years, she had begun singing with several local church groups and honing her skill as a vocalist, as well as, being influenced by legends such as; Tramaine Hawkins, The Clark Sisters, Walter Hawkins, and Andrae Crouch, just to name a few. But what should have been one of the most exciting times in her life, turned out to be a moment she would never forget for the rest of her life.

During her senior year of high school, Lucinda tragically lost her father in a brutal stabbing. The loss of her father was devastatingly, painful and still effects her to this day. But enduring such a tragic moment at just sixteen years old, also displayed the strength and character of who God was in her life.

Two years later, ironically Moore found herself singing background for one of her idols she had grown up listening to, renowned gospel singer, Tramaine Hawkins. During her five year stint with one of the most popular Gospel singers in the world, Lucinda learned what it meant to be
an artist, what music ministry was all about, and most importantly, developed a deeper and more meaningful relationship with God.

Soon thereafter, for several years, Lucinda began traveling and performing with multiple groups, including appearances with; Hezekiah Walker, Carmen, the Gospel Music Workshop of America, and Joe Pace & The Colorado Mass Choir. In 2004, she independently released her first solo recording, entitled UNLIMITED PRAISE. By 2005, Lucinda had managed to land a national recording contract with Tyscot Records with the help of industry veteran, Telisa Stinson. Less than a year later in ‘06, Lucinda released her debut self-titled live CD/DVD, that landed in the top 20 on the Billboard Gospel charts and also spawned a big radio hit “Pressure Into Praise.” The success of a popular radio single and chart topping debut, put Lucinda’s already rising career into high gear.

Four years later in 2010, Lucinda returned with her highly anticipated second release BLESSED, BROKEN, and GIVEN, which landed at #13 on Billboard’s Top Gospel album charts, solidifying Moore as a major player in gospel music. This album would eventually win Lucinda her first Stellar Award in 2011 for Traditional Female Vocalist of The Year!
